It all gets underway at 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as the New York Mets host the St Louis Cardinals. Getting the start for New York will be lefthander Steven Matz as he opposes Cardinals righty Ponce De Leon. Cardinals opened this series losing four of six on the road trip after their 9-0 loss at Miami on Wednesday. Run production has been an issue this season for St Louis. Mets start the series with St Louis winning five of seven to move within one game of .500. New York has struggled in the bullpen with an ERA of 5.13 on the season. Ponce De Leon makes his second start of the year for St Louis. In April the righthander had a good outing at home to Milwaukee where the held the Brewers to one run and two hits over five innings. He was then sent to the minors. In 11 starts in Triple A Ponce De Leon was 4-4 with ERA of 3.90 but had issues with control walking too many batters. Matz comes off a good start at home to Colorado holding the Rockies to two earned runs and striking out ten batters in six innings.

The late night game begins at 10:15PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel as the San Francisco Giants are home to the Milwaukee Brewers. On the hill for Milwaukee will be Zach Davies as he will oppose Giants lefty Drew Pomeranz. Brewers are playing well as the team has won five of their past six games after a 6-3 road win at Houston in fourteen innings. Giants win both games of their two game home series to San Diego. Zach Davies was struggling in the Brewers rotation last season. He has shown improvement in 2019 as the righthander is 7-0 in thirteen starts with an ERA of 2.41. On the road he is 3-0 with ERA of 1.88. Drew Pomeranz has had a bad season with a 1-6 mark in 13 starts with ERA of 7.16 and WHIP of 1.75. San Francisco is a poor hitting team with batting average of .220.
