At 8PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel two NL contenders face as the Chicago Cubs are home to the Atlanta Braves. Getting the start for Atlanta will be Max Fried as he will oppose Cubs righty Adbert Alzolay. Braves opened this road trip winning two of three in Washington after their 4-3 victory on Sunday. Team moved to 46-32 overall and sit 22-15 on the road. Opening this series, the Braves held a 6 ½ game lead in the NL East. Cubs have been a good home team with a mark of 27-14 after splitting a four game series with the Mets. Max Fried enters play with an 8-3 record in fifteen starts with ERA of 4.03 and WHIP of 1.34. Braves are 7-1 in his past eight starts. Fried comes off a win at home to the Mets in his last start giving up two runs over six innings of work. He faced the Cubs at home early in the season giving up no runs and one hit over six innings. Adbert Alolay makes his first start of his Major League career. He worked four innings of relief five days ago at home to the Mets giving up one run and one hit walking two. In Triple A this season he had 46 strikeouts in 32 innings.

The late night game begins at 10PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel as the LA Angels host the Cincinnati Reds. It will be righthander Tyler Mahle starting for Cincinnati to battle Angels lefty Andrew Heaney. Angels play their first game at home after an 11 game road trip. They had a winning trip going 6-5 after their 6-4 win at St Louis on Sunday night to move to 39-40 on the season. Andy Heaney in five starts is 0-1 with ERA of 5.68 and WHIP of 1.14. He looks to rebound after a poor start at Toronto allowing five runs with four hits and four walks over 3 2/3rd innings. Tyler Mahle sits at 2-7 in fourteen starts with ERA of 4.17 and WHIP of 1.20. Mahle does come off a good start holding the Houston Astros to two runs and four hits over seven innings. Reds opened this road trip splitting a four game series with the Milwaukee Brewers dropping the final two games.
