Run total came in at 8 ½ runs. Starting for Houston will be Justin Verlander as he opposes Red Sox lefty Eduardo Rodriguez. Houston has won the first two games of this series with their walk off 4-3 home win to Boston. Astros have responded after dropping their final two games to the White Sox in their four game series that preceded this one. Eduardo Rodriguez like last year has put up bad numbers but has gotten run support to cover him. Team is 7-3 in his ten starts yet Rodriguez sports an ERA of 5.43 on the season as the Red Sox average 7.8 runs per game for the lefthander. Justin Verlander is 8-1 on the year with an ERA of 2.24 and low WHIP of 0.73.

ESPN Sunday Night Baseball starts at 7PM Eastern Time as the St Louis Cardinals host the Atlanta Braves. St Louis is favored by -143 odds with the Braves bringing back +133 odds. Run total is set at 9 runs. Starting for St Louis will be righthander Jack Flaherty as he opposes Braves righty Julio Teheran. St Louis was able to rally against the Braves bullpen on Saturday for the 6-3 home victory by pushing across four runs in the eighth inning. Cardinals are 17-11 at home on the year as they even this series at 1-1. Julio Teheran numbers are poor this season on the road as the righthander sits with a 1-3 record and ERA of 4.46. But those poor numbers were built early in the season and has vastly improved over his past three appearances on the road. Flaherty at home has produced better numbers with a 3-1 mark with ERA of 2.48 in his 29 innings pitched on the season.
