There will be day baseball and it gets underway at 1PM Eastern Time as the Boston Red Sox have a home date with the Seattle Mariners. Getting the start for Seattle will be Felix Hernandez as he opposes Red Sox righty Rick Porcello. After a good start to the season the Mariners have struggled for offense. As they opened this series Seattle has dropped eight of their past ten games and lost both road series entering play on Friday. Boston got their offense going on their completed road trip winning five of seven to start this series. Felix Hernandez has struggled the past few seasons as his velocity has dipped. Hernandez looks to rebound after a poor outing at the Yankees surrendering seven runs six earned with three homers over five innings of work. A positive for King Felix is he did face the Red Sox last year surrendering one earned run in seven innings. Rick Porcello was poor in his first two starts. He has since corrected his form. Porcello in his past two starts has given up two runs over fourteen innings in victories to the Athletics and White Sox.

On FOX Sports 1 TV at 4PM Eastern Time the Oakland Athletics host the Cleveland Indians. On the hill for Cleveland will be Trevor Bauer as he faces Athletics righty Aaron Brooks. Oakland has started slowly this season with a 17-22 record. Their bullpen has not been as sharp in previous seasons. The starters have struggled with a combined ERA of 4.54. They are missing their staff ace Sean Manaea until July as he recovers from shoulder surgery. Cleveland opens this series with a 20-16 record and will be pushed in the AL Central race by Minnesota. They hit the road after winning four of seven at home. Issue with the Indians is their hitting with a team batting average of .216. Trevor Bauer has pitched well with a 4-2 record in eight starts with ERA of 3.42 and WHIP of 1.16. He comes off his worst outing of the season giving up seven earned runs in five innings at home to the White Sox in defeat. Brooks for Oakland has been crushed giving up twelve runs in his past three starts in 14 1/3rd innings.
