The action begins at 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as the Boston Red Sox host the LA Angels. Getting the start for LA will be lefthander Dillon Peters as he will oppose Red Sox lefthander Chris Sale. The Angels have fallen out of contention as the team enters play on a six game losing streak after getting swept in a two game series with the Cincinnati Reds. This issue this year for the Angels has been the lack of production from their starting staff as the unit has an ERA of 5.46 on the campaign. LAA is ten games out of wildcard contention. After their loss at home to Kansas City on Tuesday the Red Sox have lost nine of their past ten games. Boston has given up six runs or greater in eight of those contests. Dillon Peters has a record of 2-0 in two starts with an ERA of 3.20 and WHIP of 1.42. His last start was on July 27th allowing five runs two earned over four innings of an 8-7 home defeat to Baltimore. Chris Sale checks in at 5-11 in 23 starts with an ERA of 4.68 and WHIP of 1.14. He faced the Yankees on Saturday and surrendered eight runs over 3 2/3rd innings of a 9-2 road defeat.

The late night game gets underway at 10PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel with the San Diego Padres at home to the Colorado Rockies. On the hill for Colorado will be righthander Jon Gray to face San Diego lefty Eric Lauer. San Diego has fallen out of contention since the All Star Break as the team has suffered some brutal losses with bullpen struggles. Rockies too have struggled since the break. Jon Gray has a mark of 10-7 in 23 starts with an ERA of 4.03 and WHIP of 1.39. He faced the Giants on Saturday giving up four runs and nine hits in four innings of a 6-5 home loss. Eric Lauer checks in at 6-8 in 20 starts with an ERA of 4.43 and WHIP of 1.34. He battled the Dodgers on the road Friday giving up two runs with three hits over six innings of a 5-2 road win.
