Day Baseball is scheduled at 12:35PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as the Pittsburgh Pirates host the St Louis Cardinals. Getting the start for Pittsburgh will be righthander Joe Musgrove to oppose Cardinals righthander Miles Mikolas. With St Louis winning the first two games of this series the team has won nine of their past eleven games which allowed the team to sit with the second wildcard spot in the National League. Pittsburgh has gone the other way dropping nine of eleven to sit seven games back for the final NL Wildcard. They now have the same record as the New York Mets falling out of contention for the playoffs. Miles Mikolas enters play with a 6-10 record in twenty starts with an ERA of 4.17 and WHIP of 1.23. In his last start Mikolas allowed three earned runs and six hits over six innings in a 3-2 road loss at Cincinnati. He has had success facing the Pirates the past two seasons. Joe Musgrove for the year is 7-8 in twenty starts with an ERA of 4.08 and WHIP of 1.20. He is coming off a good outing at home to Philadelphia Saturday giving up no earned runs and two hits over six innings of a 5-1 win.

On MLB Network at 8PM Eastern Time the Chicago White Sox are home to the Minnesota Twins. On the hill for Minnesota will be righty Jose Berrios to oppose White Sox Lucas Giolito. White Sox have lost seven of ten as they close out their three game series with Miami on Wednesday. They fell to 45-53 on the year sitting 11 games back of Oakland for the final wildcard spot. Issue with the team has been starting pitching as the unit sits with an ERA of 5.43 on the campaign. Minnesota will be coming off an emotional home three game series with the New York Yankees and has a three game lead in the AL Central over third place Cleveland. Jose Berrios sits at 8-5 in twenty starts with an ERA of 2.96 and WHIP of 1.15. In his last outing, Berrios held Oakland to no runs over 5 2/3rd innings at home.
