Day Baseball is on the schedule and it begins at 12PM Eastern Time as the Washington Nationals host the Atlanta Braves. Getting the start for Washington will be righthander Anibal Sanchez as he will oppose Braves righty Mike Soroka. Washington was able to gain a game in the standings on the Atlanta Braves in the NL East race as they win the opener of this series 6-3 to move within 4 ½ games of first place. With the loss Atlanta has lost four of six with the Nationals carrying a modest two game win streak. Washington does hold an NL Wildcard spot but there are five teams within four games back of a postseason spot. Mike Soroka has a mark of 10-2 in eighteen starts with an ERA of 2.44 and WHIP of 1.13. In his last start he held the Phillies to one run over 4 2/3rd innings of a 9-2 road win. Anibal Sanchez checks in with a mark of 6-6 in nineteen starts with an ERA of 3.63 and WHIP of 1.30. Sanchez threw on Friday allowing one run and three hits over seven innings of a 4-2 home defeat to LA Dodgers.

ESPN Wednesday Night Baseball begins at 8:15PM Eastern Time as the St Louis Cardinals have a home date with the Chicago Cubs. On the hill for St Louis will be Miles Mikolas as he will oppose righthander Kyle Hendricks. As they open this series the Cubs and Cardinals both sit tied for the NL Central division. Milwaukee is only one game behind both teams. Cardinals were cooled off losing two of three at home to Houston over the weekend. Cubs have lost four of six on this road trip at San Francisco and Milwaukee. Kyle Hendricks sits at 7-8 in nineteen starts with an ERA of 3.26 and WHIP of 1.13. He comes off a good outing at Milwaukee where he allowed no runs and two hits over five innings of a 3-2 road defeat. Miles Mikolas sits with a mark of 7-10 in 21 starts. The righthander threw on Thursday at Pittsburgh giving up three runs over six innings of a 6-3 road win.
