On MLB Network at 7PM Eastern Time the Philadelphia Phillies will host the Atlanta Braves. The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the road team Atlanta Braves favored by -165 odds with the return on the underdog Philadelphia Phillies at +150 odds. Run total came in at 9 ½ runs. Starting for Atlanta will be Max Fried to oppose Phillies lefty Jason Vargas. Atlanta holds an eight game lead in the loss column in the NL East. Philadelphia trails in the Wildcard chase by three games. Fried has put up good numbers on the season with a 16-4 record and ERA of 3.86. He faced the Nationals at home on Thursday and allowed no runs and a hit over seven innings. Jason Vargas has been inconsistent mixing in some bad and good outings. But Philadelphia is 2-5 in his past seven starts. He does get in trouble with dealing too many walks at times.

Two playoff contenders meet at 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel with the New York Mets at home to the Arizona Diamondbacks. New York is favored by -135 odds with the take back on Arizona at +125 odds. Run total is set at eight runs. Starting for Arizona will be righthander Zac Gallen to oppose Mets righty Zack Wheeler. Arizona is 2 ½ games back in the NL Wildcard while the Mets sit four back. Zac Gallen was a good addition to the Diamondbacks lineup acquired in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He held the Padres to no runs over seven innings allowing one hit in his last start. He has allowed three runs or fewer in his six starts with the Diamondbacks with Arizona winning five of those games. Zack Wheeler has been sharp allowing one run in each start at the Nationals and Phillies. Prior to that the righthander surrendered thirteen earned runs in 16 innings. Wheeler has dealt nine walks over his past seventeen innings of work.
