Two NL Central foes meet at 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel as the Cincinnati Reds host the St Louis Cardinals. Getting the start for Cincinnati will be righthander Tyler Mahle as he will oppose Cardinals righty Adam Wainwright. These are both teams that have struggled to score runs this season. St Louis opens this series winning two of three at home to both Arizona and Pittsburgh. They have moved to 48-46 on the season just two games in the loss column back of the first place Chicago Cubs. Cincinnati is headed the opposite direction as they came off the break dropping two of three at Colorado and at Chicago. Reds have gotten good work from their pitching staff sitting third in MLB in Team ERA at 3.85 and a good WHIP of 1.26. Hitting has been an issue for the Reds as the team bats .239 as a team. Tyler Mahle has a mark of 2-10 on the season with ERA of 4.82 in 18 starts. He has not been blessed with run support earlier in the season. Mahle looks to rebound after a poor start at Colorado where he allowed ten runs six earned in 4 1/3rd innings of a 10-9 loss. Adam Wainwright sits at 6-7 with an ERA of 3.99 in seventeen starts on the campaign. He has pitched well giving up no greater than three runs in his past six starts.

At 9:40PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel the Arizona Diamondbacks have a home date with the Milwaukee Brewers. It will be righthander Taylor Clarke starting for Arizona to oppose Brewers righty Jhoulys Chacin. Milwaukee opens this series winning two of three at home to Atlanta. Chacin has struggled with a 3-9 mark with ERA of 5.18. He has shown improvement in his past three outings allowing no greater than two earned runs in each start. He held the Giants to one earned run over five innings in his last start. Arizona opens this series after sweeping both games in Texas behind strong offensive production. Taylor Clarke is 2-3 with an ERA of 6.21. Clarke lasted only 3 2/3rd innings in his last start at LA Dodgers surrendering three earned runs over 3 2/3rd innings of work.
