ESPN Monday Night Baseball begins at 7PM Eastern Time on ESPN TV as the Cleveland Indians have a home date with the Boston Red Sox. After dropping a decision on Saturday to the LA Angels the Boston Red Sox are 6 ½ games out of an AL Wildcard spot. The team has struggled with starting pitching as the unit has an ERA of 6.06 on the campaign while averaging only 5 1/3rd innings of work. The Red Sox have lost David Price to the DL for ten days with a wrist injury. Team will have to decide to utilize either an opener or move Nathan Eovaldi back into the starting rotation in place of Price. Cleveland has been a hot team as they have won seven of their past nine games as they finish their series with Minnesota on Sunday. Zach Plesac gets the start for the Indians. The righthander has a mark of 6-3 in thirteen starts with an ERA of 3.12 and WHIP of 1.15. He comes off a good outing at home to Texas where he allowed no runs over six innings of a 2-0 victory.

The late night game begins at 10PM Eastern Time on MLB Network with the LA Angels hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates. On the hill for LA will be lefthander Jose Suarez as he will oppose Pirates righthander Mitch Keller. These are two teams that have fallen out of contention in the playoff races. After losing 3-1 at St Louis on Saturday the Pirates have fallen to 20 games under .500 by losing 23 of 27 games since the All Star Break. Angles recently broke an eight game losing streak by beating Boston on Saturday and sat 11 games out of an AL Wildcard spot. Mitch Keller has a record of 0-1 in three starts this season with an ERA of 10.50 and WHIP of 2.25. The righthander allowed four runs two earned in his last start at home to Detroit in a 5-4 defeat. Jose Suarez sits at 2-3 in ten starts with an ERA of 6.22 and WHIP of 1.80. Suarez faced Cincinnati on Tuesday giving up six runs with ten hits and three homers in an 8-4 loss.
