It will be Game 6 between the New York Yankees and Houston Astros. Play begins from Houston at 8PM Eastern Time and FOX Sports 1 TV has the coast to coast broadcast.

The Houston Astros return home with a 3-2 series lead looking to closeout this best of seven ALCS series. After losing the opener of this series 7-0 at home the Astros stormed back with three straight wins taking the first two games in Yankees Stadium. Facing elimination, the Yankees broke their three game losing streak by posting the 4-1 home win on Friday night to move the series back to Houston. The Astros pushed across a single run in the top of the first inning. But Houston went scoreless the rest of the way finishing with only five hits. All the Yankees runs came in the bottom of the first inning. DJ LeMahieu started the at bat with a home run. Then Aaron Hicks got the Yankees the lead for good with a three run home run and the game ended 4-1. James Paxton went six innings allowing one run and four hits. Houston then got three innings of scoreless relief. With his full four days of rest Justin Verlander was hit with the loss going 7 innings allowing all four runs. Brad Peacock was the only reliever used as he pitched a scoreless eighth inning.

As the series moves into Houston there are decisions to be made by both managers. It is speculated that Luis Severino and Gerrit Cole would each pitch a Game 7 if it is necessary on Sunday night. That leaves open the possibility of a bullpen game on Saturday night in Game 6. Both managers hinted that their aces won’t start on Saturday and instead will wait until the morning to reach a conclusion on how their rotation will look like for Game 6. Teams with a 3-2 lead have won their series 70% of the time. Had Gerrit Cole got the start on Saturday he would be pitching on three days rest something the Astros did not want to do up 3-2. Should the Astros win on Saturday that allows Cole to start the opener of the World Series on Tuesday night.
