Justin Verlander takes the hill for the Astros. He makes his third start in the playoffs in nine days. He got the start in the opener of the ALDS at home to Tampa Bay and allowed no runs and a hit over seven innings in victory. But with the Astros failing to sweep in three games against Tampa Bay the veteran was forced to start on three days rest and allowed four earned runs with two homers in 3 2/3rd innings in a 4-1 road defeat. Verlander will work on four days of rest in this start benefitting from two off days between starts. Justin Verlander faced the Yankees twice this year giving up six runs with two homers in 13 innings with Houston winning both games. It was announced that the Astros have decided to take Wade Miley off their postseason roster for the ALCS.
