The champagne will be on ice as the Houston Astros host the Washington Nationals. Things begin from Houston at 8PM Eastern Time and FOX TV has the coast to coast broadcast. The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the home team Houston Astros favored by -170 odds with the return on the underdog Washington Nationals at +160 odds. Run total is lined at 7 ½ runs. Starting for Houston will be Justin Verlander as he will oppose Nationals righty Stephen Strasburg.

The World Series opened with the Nationals wining the first two games in Houston. When the series moved to Washington it was the Astros winning all three games. After scoring 17 runs in the first two games the team was held to a single run in each of the past three games with the Astros scoring 19 runs. Houston moved to 3-2 and one win away from a World Series title following their 7-1 road win on Sunday. Scheduled to start for Washington was Max Scherzer but was forced to scratch with a neck injury and his availability for the rest of the World Series is in doubt. Joe Ross took the mound to start for Washington and allowed four runs and five hits with two homers over five innings. Nationals bullpen then gave up three runs in the final four innings. Gerrit Cole got the win for Houston pitching seven innings allowing one run and three hits. Astros bullpen worked two scoreless innings.

Justin Verlander has had a rough post season. During the regular season he gave up the most home runs in his career. In five postseason starts this year the veteran has allowed fourteen earned runs with six homers in 30 1/3rd innings. Stephen Strasburg has been sharp in the playoffs this season. The righthander in four playoff starts on the year has given up six earned runs in 25 innings of work with 36 strikeouts. Nationals have won all four playoff starts for Strasburg this season.
