Golden St is 0-3 in Game 3’s of these playoffs entering Game 3 of the NBA Finals. They were the road team in each of these games. Make that 0-4 in the NBA playoffs after Cleveland wins 120-90 and covering as a +1 ½ point underdog. The Warriors now holds a 2-1 lead in this series so Cleveland will look to even this series in Game 4. Playing like a desperate team the Cavaliers went up by 17 after one quarter. Golden closed within eight at the half. Cleveland then drew away building a 20 point lead after three quarters. Without Kevin Love in the lineup the Cavaliers Big 2 in LeBron James and Kyrie Irving both stepped up with big games. James led the club with 32 points and grabbed 11 boards with Irving chipping in with 30 points. They got a lift from J.R. Smith who went 5 of 10 from three point range and finished the game with 20 points. With Kevin Love out with a concussion the team needed a lift from Tristan Thompson. The center contributed with 14 points and 13 boards. It was veteran Richard Jefferson who got the start in place of Kevin Love. Now that the Warriors lost the concern now draws on the shoulders of the splash brothers as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are not hitting their grove offensively in this NBA Finals series. Thompson suffered a leg injury early in the game and showed effects of it. Thompson was unhappy with Cavaliers big man Timofey Mozgov as he hit Klay on his leg on a screen. Klay Thompson was quoted after the game calling it a dirty play.
