The NBA playoffs are fast approaching. The Golden St Warriors have suddenly opened up a two game lead in the Western conference as the Warriors go 3-0 on their just concluded home stand and the San Antonio Spurs have stubbed their toe. Oklahoma City sits in the sixth seed in the west and trails the fourth seeded Utah Jazz for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs by 2 ½ games. Golden St will be without Kevin Durant who has a sprained knee for at least much of the regular season. We have seen scoring output greatly reduce in Warriors game as a result with Golden St going 8-1 to the under during Durant’s recent absence. Oklahoma City in their quest to catch Utah has gone on a five game win streak after their 16 point home victory to Sacramento on Saturday.
The late night game tips at 10:30PM Eastern Time on TNT TV as the LA Clippers are home to the New York Knicks. The Clippers are favored by -11 points with a total lined at 217 ½ points. The Clippers are in the fifth seed in the western conference trailing the Utah Jazz by two games with only 12 games remaining to earn home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Oklahoma City is just ½ game back of the Clippers for the fifth seed. Should LA fall to the sixth seed they are looking at an opening round playoff opponent of the Houston Rockets. The Clippers have gotten healthy but still hasn’t helped results on the court. They just broke a three game losing streak after a 30 point home victory to Cleveland who rested their big three. Knicks have dropped six of eight after an 11 point home defeat to Brooklyn on Thursday.
