It all gets underway on TNT TV at 8PM Eastern Time as the as the Dallas Mavericks host the San Antonio Spurs. A look at the playoff standings and the San Antonio Spurs sit in the sixth seed of the Western conference. But they are only a ½ game up on the eighth seeded Utah Jazz. The eighth seed would likely meet Golden St in the first round and the battle there is between the Jazz, Clippers and Spurs. Dallas will be a lottery team once again. San Antonio struggled through their rodeo road trip. They returned home and won three straight. They had a test six days ago heading into Atlanta and came away with a seven point road win. With three days off San Antonio caught the Milwaukee Bucks in a back to back spot and the Spurs earned the 121-114 win on their home court behind 49% shooting. San Antonio has had defensive struggles on the road this season by allowing 48.1% overall. Dallas has the look of a team playing for draft position. Mavs have lost five in a row and dropped nine of their past ten games.

The late night game tips at 10:30PM Eastern Time on TNT TV as the Denver Nuggets have a home date with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Denver holds the second seed in the Western conference and sit 1 ½ games back of the top seeded Golden St Warriors. Maintaining the second seed or passing the Warriors as the top seed could possibly mean the Nuggets could avoid Golden St until the conference finals should both teams make it that far. There is some injury concern for the Timberwolves entering this game. Both Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins are questionable with injuries. Minnesota still has their struggles on defense this season and it has been worse on the road as the team is 9-25 straight up. Denver is 27-6 on their home court. They have been in a slump losing four of their past five games with home defeats to the Jazz and Pelicans. They return home off a 1-2 road trip. During this slump the Nuggets defense has been poor.
