The excitement on the court will get underway as two playoff contenders hit the court as the Dallas Mavericks will hit the road to face the Memphis Grizzlies. Things get underway from Memphis at 8PM Eastern Time and ESPN has the coast to coast broadcast. The Dallas Mavericks have clinched a playoff spot as they were able to defeat the Phoenix Suns on Saturday by three points. The Mavs could finish in either the sixth, seventh or eighth seed in the Western conference. That means their first round opponent will be very tough as they will not have home court advantage in a best of seven Western conference quarterfinal round against the Spurs, Thunder or Clippers. Finishing in seeds six through eight is not where you want to be in the Western conference because a heavyweight awaits you in the playoffs. The Memphis Grizzlies find themselves in the same dilemma as they were fighting the Phoenix Suns for the final playoff spot in the west as the two clubs meet on Monday night. Heading into Monday the Grizzlies magic number was one so any one Memphis win or Suns loss and Memphis would get the final playoff spot because the Grizzlies owns the tiebreaker.

The late night game will feature two NBA playoff teams as the LA Clippers will travel to the Pacific Northwest as they face the Portland Trailblazers. The teams will begin from Portland at 10:30PM Eastern Time over ESPN TV. The Clippers are on a back to back after hosting the Denver Nuggets the night before. It looks like LA will be a three seed and most likely will face Golden St in the first round of the playoffs. After defeating Golden St on Sunday the Trailblazers will face the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs.
