The doubleheader gets underway as the Chicago Bulls will host the Washington Wizards at 8PM Eastern Time on ESPN. The Bulls are going through a bad stretch as they have dropped three of their past four games. They are 1-1 in this three game home stand after they drop a 121-114 home decision to lowly Orlando as an 11 ½ point favorite. The one positive in this stretch has been the play of Pau Gasol who poured in 46 points on Saturday and 28 in defeat on Monday night. Gasol had expressed frustration in recent games after sitting on the bench late in close games. The Bulls had been a stout defensive team in recent years but sits in the middle of the league in points allowed as the club allows 99 points a game. Washington will be in a back to back spot on Wednesday as the team was hosting San Antonio on Tuesday night. Their last road game was on Sunday and it was an ugly 120-89 loss at Atlanta. The Wizards are a very good shooting team ranking fourth in field goal percentage at 47.3% and they are the top three point shooting team in the NBA by making 39%.

The late night game out west will have the Portland Trailblazers playing host to the LA Clippers over on ESPN at 10:30PM Eastern Time. It was a disappointing 6-3 nine game home stand for the LA Clippers. There were beaten by 14 at home to Miami on Sunday. Rumors have been flying around that the Clippers are looking to unload DeAndre Jordan in a trade. He has tremendous leaping ability but lacks the toughness on defense against opposing big men. Portland is a hot team winner of four straight and eight of their past nine games. The team is number one in scoring and three point defense in the league. Opponents hit 42.8% from the field in the league ranking Portland number two in that category.
