An attractive matchup kick off the doubleheader as the Portland Trailblazers continues their east coast road trip as they face the New York Knicks. The Trailblazers and Knicks will get things underway from Madison Square Garden at 8PM Eastern Time and ESPN TV will provide the coast to coast TV broadcast. The New York Knicks have been a streaky team. We have seen long winning and losing streaks this season. As they enter their road game at Milwaukee on Monday New York sits in the 10th seed in the Eastern conference and 1 game behind the Charlotte Bobcats for the eighth and final playoff spot. New York has the talent to be no worse than a fourth seed in the Eastern conference. The Knicks have not defended well this season as the club allows 46% shooting to opponents ranking 21st in the league. Portland has been a surprise out West as the club sits with a mark of 34-13 on the year and tied with the San Antonio Spurs for the second seed in the West heading into their game on Monday at Washington. The turnaround came about as the Trailblazers management was able to build a bench behind their starting five.

The doubleheader game will feature LeBron James and the Miami Heat heading out west to face Blake Griffin and the LA Clippers. The Heat and Clippers get started from Staples Center in Los Angeles at 10:30PM Eastern Time over ESPN TV. Miami enters Staples Center with a 14-9 road record this season. We have seen Miami having issues getting up in spots during this regular season as the team looks to avoid fatigue of playing in three straight Finals series. Miami has played basketball from October through mid-June the past three seasons. LA Clippers are expecting Chis Paul back into their lineup next week. Heading into their road game on Monday at Denver the Clippers have won five of their past six games.
