The madness begins at 1PM Eastern Time as CBS will televise the Big East matchup between the Connecticut Huskies and #2 ranked Syracuse Orange. Connecticut has hit the skids mightily losers of five of their past six games and has lost head coach Jim Calhoun from the sidelines as he is out with a back problem. Syracuse survived a scare last time out in their 64-61 home win on Wednesday night to the Georgetown Hoyas.

The Big Ten conference has a good one scheduled as the sixth ranked Michigan St Spartans travels to play 12th ranked Ohio St Buckeyes at 6PM Eastern Time over ESPN television. After wins at Nebraska and Wisconsin to open up Big Ten play on the road the Spartans have dropped three straight on the highway. Two of those losses came by one point in defeats at Illinois and Michigan. After a five point loss at Illinois the Buckeyes have strung together six straight wins.

The prime time game in the 9PM Eastern Time slot over on ESPN television will pit the number one ranked team from college basketball the Kentucky Wildcats as they travel to play a very experienced Vanderbilt Commodores team from SEC conference play. Kentucky has steamrolled teams with 16 straight wins. They have been good to betters covering the spread in five straight. They failed in their biggest road test to date with a 73-72 defeat at Indiana as a -5 ½ point favorite. Vanderbilt has been a disappointment this season with a 17-7 record. A lot more was expected from this team with all five returning starters back. They were touted as a preseason #7th ranked team and now have dropped out of the Top 25.

A very good one from the Mountain West conference will have the #14th ranked San Diego St Aztecs heading up I15 to face the #16th ranked UNLV Running Rebels at 4PM Eastern Time over NBC Sports Network. UNLV will be out for revenge as the San Diego St Aztecs upended the Rebels back on January 14th in a 69-67 home win as a +5 ½ point underdog.
