The Boca Raton bowl is scheduled for 6PM Eastern Time as the Marshall Thundering Herd will battle the Northern Illinois Huskies over ESPN TV. The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the Marshall Thundering Herd favored by –10 points with a total set at 66 ½ points. Northern Illinois is 11-2 and are repeat champions of the MAC Conference Championship Game. The team has been the class of the MAC for years but 2014 was a rebuilding year for the year on the offensive side of the football. Early season struggles saw the team routed at Arkansas, pull out a three point win at home to Kent and lose by 17 at home to Central Michigan. Since that loss to the Chippewas the Huskies have improved week after week and carry a seven game win streak into Boca Raton. Marshall behind quarterback Rakeem Cato was vying for a New Year’s Bowl game as they carried an undefeated record for much of the season. But on the final regular season game the Thundering Herd dropped a 67-66 home overtime decision to Western Kentucky that sent Marshall to Boca Raton and Boise St to the Fiesta Bowl to play Arizona.

The Poinsettia Bowl will tee up at 9:30Pm Eastern Time on ESPN as the Navy Midshipmen will face the San Diego St Aztecs. The Mountain West conference school San Diego St is favored by -3 points with a total of 54 points. San Diego St will play in the Poinsettia Bowl in their home stadium. They concluded play at 7-5 and had trouble playing on the road this season with a mark of 1-5 straight up. Navy is 7-5 as well and comes off a 17-10 victory to rival Army on December 13th. Junior quarterback Keenan Reynolds sparked the Midshipmen when he returned to the lineup on October 25th after missing time due to injury. The team has won four of five with Reynolds return to the lineup with a 49-39 loss at Notre Dame as the only blemish during that span.
