Texas A&M fired their coach after a 7-5 season. We have seen teams struggle in bowl games with coaches getting axed. Aggies could not beat the top tier teams from the SEC. Wake Forest finished at 8-4 and saw their offensive production increase this season. They average nearly 34 points per game.

The Sun Bowl kicks off at 3PM Eastern Time on CBS TV as Arizona St Sun Devils meet NC State Wolfpack. NC State is favored by -7 with the total set at 59 ½ points. Arizona St fired their head coach. Sun Devils finished at 7-5 but played poorly on defense by allowing 447 yards per game. NC State can move the football as the team averages 449 yards and 30 points per game.

Music City Bowl airs on ESPN TV at 4:30PM Eastern Time as Northwestern Wildcats faces Kentucky Wildcats. Northwestern is favored by -7 ½ points with the total set at 51. Northwestern is one of the hottest teams in college football as they carry a seven game win streak in this bowl game. Notable wins in this streak came against Michigan St and Iowa all at home. Kentucky finished at 7-5 but struggled against the top tier SEC teams on their schedule.

At 5:30PM Eastern Time on CBS Sports Network it is the Arizona Bowl with Utah St Aggies facing New Mexico St Aggies. Utah St is favored by -4 with the total set at 64. Each team is 6-6. New Mexico St won three of four to become bowl eligible by beating South Alabama, Idaho and Texas St very weak Sun Belt teams. Utah St beat the downtrodden teams from the Mountain West but struggled against the bowl teams from the conference.

ESPN TV will televise at 8:30PM Eastern Time the Cotton Bowl with Ohio St Buckeyes meeting USC Trojans. Ohio St is favored by -7 ½ points with the total set at 65. USC has plenty of time to get healthy after their three point victory to Stanford in the PAC 12 title game. Nearly three weeks off. Trojans always look faster in their bowl games as their bodies get healed from a difficult schedule each year. Ohio St defeated Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game but must deal with the disappointment of being the last team eliminated from the playoffs.
