In the first week of the preseason head coaches will play a lot of players as they seek game film from their roster players as they get ready for cut days upcoming. Drew Brees is coming of another outstanding year under center for the Saints in 2013. New Orleans got as far as the division round of the playoffs where they were beaten on the road by the Seattle Seahawks. Give credit to Drew Brees and company for going on the road in the Wildcard Round and beating Philadelphia 26-24. It will be interesting to see how the Saints will handle their offense without Darren Sproles in the backfield. Brees check down target helped create space for the talented Saints receivers to make plays in the passing game. With Brees seeing little work the team will utilize backups Luke McCown, Logan Kilgore and Ryan Griffin. St Louis is looking to erase a playoff drought as they finished in last place once again in the NFC West division with a 7-9 record. It will be Jeff Fisher’s third year with the club which produced seven regular season wins in both seasons. Sam Bradford’s time as the starter could be wearing thin as the club has had little success in his tenure with the club. Bradford will play little on Friday as backups Austin Davis, Garrett Gilbert and Shaun Hill will see the bulk of the work.
