The 2015 Denver Broncos concluded play in the regular season with a record of 12-4. That was one game better in the AFC West than the Kansas City Chiefs and was also good enough for home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. They won tiebreakers with the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals who finished with identical 12-4 records. Behind an outstanding defense with pass rush the Broncos beat the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots in the playoffs. They limited the Steelers to only 16 points and the Patriots to 18 points. In the Super Bowl the Broncos faced a mobile quarterback in Cam Newton and behind their ferocious defense was able to earn the 24-10 victory.

Denver heavily leaned on the number one ranked defense in the NFL as the club allowed just 283 yards per game. The Broncos were number one against the pass, number three against the run and was the fourth best scoring defense by allowing 18.5 points per game. Gone from the roster are starting quarterback Peyton Manning who retired and his backup Brock Osweiler signed by the Texans in free agency. The three quarterbacks in the Broncos camp are veterans Mark Sanchez, second year guy Trevor Siemian and rookie Paxton Lynch. Sanchez spent time as the starter at Philadelphia last season for two games last year. He completed 64.8% of his throws for 616 yards with four touchdowns and 11 picks. Interceptions have hampered his playing career. Siemian saw no work in his rookie campaign during the regular season and Lynch is a highly touted draft choice of Denver and most likely is the future of the team. An interesting rookie on the Broncos roster will be running back Devontae Booker out of Utah. He was much of the offense for the Utes as he was a threat on the ground and in the passing game out of the backfield. Linebacker Von Miller was signed to a long team contract. Miller has averaged 12 sacks per season and finished 2015 with 11 sacks with heavy pressure put on quarterbacks.
