The Seahawks defense was elite last year. They were second against the pass and tops in the league in defending the run. Russell Wilson had a career year in his fourth season in Seattle. He completed 68% of his throws for 4024 yards with 34 touchdowns and 8 picks. All were career highs except for the picks. He didn’t run as much as he did in 2014 with 553 yards rushing with one touchdown and 5.4 yards per carry average. The team will have to deal with the retirement of running back Marshawn Lynch. Thomas Rawls had a good start to his rookie season playing 13 games and rushing for 830 yards with four touchdowns and a good 5.6 yards per carry average. He broke his ankle in Week 14 and is expected to be in the Seahawks backfield in week one of the regular season. Third round pick C.J. Promise is a running back from Notre Dame who will try and get time in the Seahawks backfield. Also competing for the Seattle backfield are rookie running backs Zac Brooks and Alex Collins. The word coming from the Seahawks camp is that Promise is being groomed as a third down back. Tight end Jimmy Graham had his 2015 season cut short. The tight end played in 11 games until he got injured in Week 12 against the Steelers with a knee injury that required surgery. He had a career low two touchdown receptions last year. The hope is that Russell Wilson can get Graham more involved in the offense.
