CJ Henderson played three seasons at Florida as he exits following his junior campaign. He picked off six passes in his college career but none in his final season. The cornerback is the fifteenth rated best prospect entering the draft. The scouts like his speed and his ability to keep up with front line receivers running deep patterns. They would like to see Henderson get stronger to better fight of receivers at the line of scrimmage to slow them down in their routes.

The mock draft experts have CJ Henderson going to the Las Vegas Raiders who have the twelfth pick in the draft. That would be the second corner taken in the draft. Ohio St cornerback Jeff Okudah is expected to go third to the Detroit Lions who are looking to better their defense. Lions were last in the NFL in defending the pass and head coach Matt Patricia is on the hot seat entering the season. Las Vegas has two draft picks in the first round. Raiders are weak at the receiver position so that is a need and the team could go in that direction here. Las Vegas has the 19th pick in the first round and could look for Henderson there. But that is a big risk as the Dallas Cowboys with the 17th pick is in need of help in their secondary.

Behind Henderson at the position is Trevon Diggs who is rated as the third best corner in this draft. Diggs played all four seasons at Alabama but as a freshman was a wide receiver. In 2017 Diggs moved to corner and posted three interceptions in his senior season. The Crimson Tide corner limits yardage following catches and does a good job defending the run according to the scouts.
