The scouts have Utah St quarterback Jordan Love rated as the 21st overall best player entering the draft. Love exits Utah St after his junior season. It was a struggle for the Aggies quarterback as a freshman where he completed 54.5% of his passes with eight touchdowns and six picks. His best season was in his sophomore campaign. Love connected on 64% in 2018 with 32 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. But those numbers dipped in his final campaign. As a junior, Love hit only 61.9% with 20 touchdowns and an ugly 17 interceptions. All these numbers came against a down Mountain West conference. His rushing numbers were subpar with 2.4 yards per rush average in his 170 attempts. The scouts like his size and arm strength but protecting the football is a major issue.

Mock drafts have Love selected as the third or fourth quarterback in the draft competing with Justin Herbert as the third quarterback picked in this draft. Herbert has an advantage with the better junior season than Love and playing better competition in his time with the Oregon Ducks. Herbert also put up the better numbers with 32 touchdowns and 6 picks in the 2019 campaign plus Rose Bowl victory under his belt.

Team needs will decide how high Jordan Love is selected. Cincinnati is set on selecting Joe Burrow at quarterback with the first pick in the draft. Tua Tagovailoa is expected to go to Miami who has the fifth pick in the draft. But the Detroit Lions select third and could be looking for a replacement for Matthew Stafford at quarterback. Chargers look to be in the market for a quarterback with the sixth pick after allowing Phillip Rivers exit in free agency. Team has Tyrod Taylor penciled as the 2020 starter. With the ninth pick the Jacksonville Jaguars could be looking at a starting quarterback with Gardner Minshew and Joshua Dobbs on the roster.
