Three Alabama players have been rated in the Top Ten of the draft by the experts. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is the top Crimson Tide prospect in this draft. In his three seasons with the Crimson Tide the wideout averaged 17.1 yards per completed pass. He has the speed and route running of a number one receiver in the NFL and could make an impact in his rookie season. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to go very high in the draft as the second quarterback taken. Some have questioned his versatility based on injury issues in his time with the Crimson Tide. Offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. is rated as the eighth best overall player. Wills Jr. has started two seasons with Alabama as he has size at 6 foot 4.5 inches and 312 pounds. Good run blocker and pass protector who doesn’t get overpowered by opposing defensive linemen. He can start immediately at the right tackle position.

The next group of highly touted Alabama players include wide out Henry Ruggs III, safety Xavier McKinney and cornerback Trevon Diggs. Ruggs is a breakaway threat who averaged 17.5 yards per reception in his three seasons. Scouts like his speed off the line of scrimmage and wasn’t afraid to go across the middle which was necessary playing alongside Jeudy. McKinney is liked by the experts for his ability to read quarterbacks and hard hitting style in run defense. Diggs may be the difference in the Crimson Tide with five or six picks in the first round. He spent four seasons with the Crimson Tide and was a wide receiver during his freshman season. Diggs picked off three passes in 2019 returning one for a touchdown. He is projected as the 25th pick in the draft going to Minnesota. San Francisco with pick 31 is also in the market for a corner.
