Colts starting quarterback Andrew Luck underwent shoulder surgery in the offseason. There is plenty of concern for the organization as head coach Chuck Pagano commented that there was no timetable for the return of their starting quarterback. The quarterback rotation for Sunday includes veteran backup Scott Tolzien, Stephen Morris and Phillip Walker. It will be interesting to see how rookie running back Marlon Mack out of South Florida looks in his first NFL game. He was a talented runner with the Bulls during his college days. The Colts drafted for their needs on defense as the team struggled in defending the pass. Detroit starts Matthew Stafford and the backup position looks different than in previous seasons with Jake Rudock and rookie Brad Kaaya out of Miami competing. Kaaya left school after his junior season and was a three year starter with the Hurricanes.

On NFL Network at 8PM Eastern Time the LA Chargers have a home date with the Seattle Seahawks. Chargers are favored by -1 ½ points with the total lined at 37 ½ points. The Chargers makes their home debut in their new location in the Home Depot Center which seats around 30,000 fans. LA needs better work from their offensive line that has been hit with injuries the past few seasons. Their second and third draft picks were offensive guards to help their pass and run blocking. The Chargers quarterback rotation behind Rivers are Mike Bercovici, Kellen Clemens and Cardale Jones. Under head coach Pete Carroll the Seahawks have performed well against the point spread during preseason. The rotation at quarterback after Russell Wilson are Trevone Boykin and Austin Davis.
