It gets underway at 4PM Eastern Time on FOX TV as the New Orleans Saints will host the Houston Texans. The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the home side New Orleans Saints the -3 ½ point favorite with the over under line set at 44 points. Houston announced a week back that Brian Hoyer will be the team’s starting quarterback as he beat out Ryan Mallet. Hoyer has thrown 15 passes in the preseason and has completed 9 throws for 119 yards and a touchdown. Third string Tom Savage has seen the bulk of the work in the first two exhibition games and has hit on 60% of his throws for 265 yards and a touchdown. They suffered a blow in summer camp as running back Arian Foster will miss significant time with a groin injury. The Texans acquired Chris Polk from Philadelphia and the running back has rushed for 65 yards with just 3.8 yards a carry. Former LSU product Alfred Blue looks to be the featured back in Foster’s absence. The Saints defense was very poor in 2014 and in two preseason games the club gave up 30 points in the opener at Baltimore and 26 points last week to New England both resulting in losses.

Sunday Night Football heads into the Black Hole as the Oakland Raiders will host the Arizona Cardinals at 8PM Eastern Time on NBC TV. The game is lined at a pick with the total coming in at 40 points. Arizona head coach Bruce Arians has not been happy with his team’s preseason performances with home losses to San Diego and Kansas City with poor offensive showings. Veteran quarterback Carson Palmer returns from a season ending injury in 2014. He has thrown just 11 passes in the preseason and completed 7 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown. Oakland second year starting quarterback Derek Carr has hit 10 of 17 passes in the preseason with 121 yards and a pick.
