LA Rams—LA finished at 11-5 but fell at home to the defending NFC Champions Atlanta Falcons in the Wildcard Round of the playoffs. Rams were led by a balanced attack offensively sitting tenth passing and eighth in their run game. LA was the top scoring team in the NFL in 2017 putting up 29.9 points per game. LA made huge moves in the offseason to bolster their defense. They need to improve from the 28th ranked team against the run.

San Francisco 49ers—There is hope for 49ers fans with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo under center. He completed 67.4% of his passes in his six games last year. San Francisco went 5-0 in their final five games. The question for this team will be on how to improve on the 24th ranked defense in the league which ranked in the lower third against the run and pass.

Seattle Seahawks—Seahawks finished in third place of the NFC West with a 9-7 mark. The team is revamping their defense and it could be a positive move for Pete Carroll based on his success of motivating and coaching up young players in this league. Seahawks must regain their dominance from the past in their home stadium. It is one of the biggest advantage they have in the league. Seattle went 1-4 at home to close the season.

Arizona Cardinals—Arizona finished third in 2017 in the NFC West at 8-8. The offseason saw the retirement of starting quarterback Carson Palmer. Sam Bradford was signed but is only guaranteed for the 2018 season. Cardinals hold a 2019 option. This may give time for rookie Josh Rosen to develop as Bradford’s backup in 2018. Cardinals despite struggles offensively was the sixth rated defense a year ago.
