The action begins at 9PM Eastern Time on NFL Network as the Denver Broncos have a home date with the Minnesota Vikings. The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the game lined as a pick with the over under line set at 34 ½ points. Minnesota had a difficult decision to make in the offseason as Case Keenum headed into free agency. The team decided to pursue Kirk Cousins a free agent from the Washington Redskins. Keenum then signed a contract with the Denver Broncos. Cousins is slated to play in the opener, but the Vikings offense line is banged up. Someone to keep an eye on in the preseason for the Minnesota Vikings will be second year running back Dalvin Cook. The former Florida St star saw his rookie season with the Vikings cut short due to a knee injury. Cook in four games rushed for 354 yards and averaged 4.8 yards per carry. It is unsure whether Cook will see the field in the preseason. Denver is banking on Keenum as being their guy. They look to improve on an anemic offense that produced only 18 points per game a season ago.

On a delayed basis televised by NFL Network the Arizona Cardinals will host the LA Chargers. Arizona is favored by -2 ½ points with the total set at 36 points. Arizona welcomes first year head coach Steve Wilks. The team saw the retirement of starting quarterback Carson Palmer in the offseason. They then signed quarterback Sam Bradford and drafted former UCLA product Josh Rosen with their first pick of the draft. Cardinals defense played well despite an anemic offense. David Johnson suffered a week one season long injury and the Arizona run game dived down to 3.4 yards per carry. LA Chargers are the favorites to win the AFC West division behind the arm of Phillip Rivers and a fierce pass rush. Chargers could use better injury luck to their offensive line and give some help to Rivers by developing a good running game. Rivers will get in trouble when he is forced into doing too much. Chargers have run for 3.8 yards or less in four straight seasons.
