The Patriots are off to a 5-0 start to the season. What has been impressive about this Patriots team is the play of their defense. New England is holding opponents to 238 yards and 6.8 points per game. They return home after back to back road games at a good Buffalo team then a bad Washington team. Patriots despite their good start had struggled on the ground with only 3.5 yards per rush average. That was addressed last week in the Patriots win as they rushed for 130 yards. Patriots have many playmakers for Tom Brady. On the season New England is throwing for 279 yards per game with Brady completing 63% of his passes. Patriots wide receivers Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon are dealing with injuries but are expected to play on Thursday night.

New York Giants enter play at 2-3. They had their two game win streak snapped in a 28-10 home defeat to Minnesota. Daniel Jones has taken over the starting job at quarterback for Eli Manning. On the season Jones is completing 64.2% of his passes with four touchdowns and three interceptions. He had his worst game at home to the Vikings where he threw for 182 yards and 55.3% completion rate. New York is dealing with several injuries. They are without star running back Saquon Barkley has been dealing with an ankle injury. Giants top receiver Sterling Shepard is in concussion protocol and is out. New York also dealing with an injury to backup running back Wayne Gallman who is doubtful with a concussion.
