The much anticipated best of seven series from the Eastern conference will get underway on Friday with Game 1 as the Detroit Red Wings will open up the NHL playoffs on the road as they face the Boston Bruins. The teams get started from Boston at 7:30PM Eastern Time and NBC Sports Network will provide the coast to coast broadcast. The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business have the home side Boston Bruins favored by -200 odds with the return on the Detroit Red Wings at +170 odds. The goal over under line is set at 5 goals. The Boston Bruins finished with the best record in the Eastern conference and draws a very good Detroit Red Wings team in the first round. Detroit qualified as an eighth seed because the team was battling injuries for much of the season. There are injury concerns in this series for the Red Wings. Left Wing Henrik Zetterberg had back surgery way back on February 21st as he had a herniated disc. Zetterberg has since returned to the team in practice sessions. He did travel with the club to Boston but media reports have noted that Zetterberg would most likely see action should Detroit make it to the second round of the playoffs. Boston completed a terrific regular season as they finish with 117 points which was one better than the Anaheim Ducks who out west finished with 116 points. There has been no hangover from the Bruins after their tough defeat in the Stanley Cup Finals last year to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Game 2 of the Eastern conference playoffs will feature the Montreal Canadians facing the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Canadians and Lightning will get underway from Tampa Bay at 7PM Eastern Time and CNBC will provide the coast to coast broadcast.

In the late game it will be Game 2 of the Western division series between the Dallas Starts and Anaheim Ducks. Face off time from Anaheim is set for 10PM Eastern Time over NBC Sports Network.
