Philadelphia is facing a dilemma at starting quarterback. The team is not 100% sure that starting quarterback Carson Wentz can play in Week 1 of the regular season. Wentz went down with a serious knee injury late in the regular season last year at the LA Rams which needed surgery. He had a torn ACL and LCL. Players returning from this type of injury doesn’t return to a full 100% until two seasons. Wentz was just allowed early this week in practice to resume drills with eleven on eleven. Backup Nick Foles took over late in the regular season in 2017 and led the Eagles to the Super Bowl victory to the New England Patriots. He has not fully participated in preseason as Foles was dealing with a neck injury. Eagles defense has not played well in the preseason giving up an average of 34 points per game. Philadelphia has not been putting a full rush on opposing quarterbacks in the preseason but expect that to change once the regular season begins.

Cleveland is showing signs of improvement during the preseason. They have drafted good talented player the past few seasons. Tyrod Taylor is the favorite to win the starting job at quarterback with Baker Mayfield beginning his NFL career as a backup. Browns last week put a strong focus to their run game which has not performed well in the preseason. The team is averaging only 3.3 yards per rushing attempt as they are running an average of 32 times thus far in the preseason. That is concerning because the Browns have talent in their backfield in Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson and rookie Nick Chubb. A strong run game could open up the passing game for the Browns.
