Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had to spend time in court to try and fight to remove his four game suspension handed down by the league. Brady was successful and now must turn his attention to preparing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The veteran signal caller will be without starting wide receiver Brandon LaFell who has been listed on the PUP list meaning he will miss the first six games of the season. Also missing from the Patriots Super Bowl roster from a year ago is running back Shane Vereen who was allowed to sign with the New York Giants in free agency. Vereen was a key contributor to the Patriots offensw as he served as a safety valve for Tom Brady for little dumps off that would go for long gains. He has speed to the outside of tackles and found ways to break down the defense as he would run pass patterns out of the backfield.

The Steelers have bad memories of a 2013 regular season game at New England where they fell to the Patriots 55-31. They gave up 610 offensive yards to the Patriots with 413 yards through the air. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is coming off a great 2014 season with many career best numbers. Big Ben threw for 4952 yards, completed 67.1% of his passes and had 32 touchdown passes which were all career best performances for the veteran quarterback. The Steelers will be without the services of running back Le’Veon Bell who must serve a two game suspension for substance abuse.
