Jimmy Garoppolo coming off an ACL knee surgery did not play in the opener. San Francisco has a battle for their backup position as well with both players who saw work as a starter last year for an injured Garoppolo. C.J. Beathard went 13 of 17 for 141 yards with a touchdown and interception. Nick Mullins in his time went 11 of 17 for 105 yards with a touchdown and pick. Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to start on Monday and see limited action. The 49ers starter is expected to play a lot in Week 3 of the preseason against the Kansas City Chiefs.
