Subway Series to the Max!!!

All American League eyes will be on Yankee Stadium throughout the weekend when the Red Sox and Yankees rekindle their love for one another in a four game set at Yankee Stadium. The Red Sox hold a 3-2 advantage over their division rivals after taking two of three at Fenway and splitting in the Stadium back in mid April. Surprisingly, Derek Jeter and the Yanks owned the BoSox last season winning 10 of their 15 overall match-ups including six of the nine meetings that took place in the Bronx.

The Red Sox come into this series with the Yankees off a brutal series at Tampa Bay that saw the Rays sweep them and increase their lead to 3.5-games in the AL East. They currently sit 13 games over .500 on the year at 50-37, but they’ve been a poor investment on the road evidenced by their sub .500 (19-27) record as a visitor. The Yankees have been a mediocre club all season long and currently sit five games over .500 at 45-40 overall. They’ve posted a winning mark at home, 23-20, but cost their betting backers close to a grand due to their inflated prices at home.

July 4th’s match-up pits (7-5) Josh Beckett against (4-6) Darrell Rasner in a game that should be very closely contested. Saturday’s afternoon affair pits the youthful Justin Masterson and his (4-2) record against veteran Mike Mussina who’s already won 10 games this season. The fourth and final game of the series will take place on ESPN’s Sunday night telecast when knuckleballer Tim Wakefield looks to overcome the exuberant Joba Chamberlain.
