The Western Conference All Stars will be coached by Scott Brooks of the Oklahoma City Thunder. They will start Chris Paul at the point along with Stephen Curry who is replacing the injured Kobe Bryant in a starter’s role. Paul’s teammate Blake Griffin will start at forward along with Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City will get the start as the West goes with three forwards and two guards in the starting lineup. It comes as a surprise to many that Rockets center Dwight Howard is not part of the starting lineup. Seeing Kevin Love in a starter’s role over Howard might make LA Lakers fans feel a bit better to see Dwight in a Rocket uniform instead of locked into a Lakers uniform for the next 5-7 years under a new contract during his free agent period last offseason. There are three first time All Stars on the roster for the West as Stephen Curry of the Golden St Warriors, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trailblazers and Anthony Davis of the home standing New Orleans Pelicans will be in a reserve role on Sunday.

The Eastern conference All Stars will be coached by Frank Vogel of the Indiana Pacers. The starters for the East will be guards Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Like the West the Eastern conference will start three forwards. The three other East starters are LeBron James of the Miami Heat, Paul George of the Indiana Pacers and Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks. There are three first time starters out East. They are DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors, Paul Millsap of the Atlanta Hawks and John Wall from the Washington Wizards. On the injury front Dwyane Wade is listed as questionable for Sunday.
