Game 1 of the TNT NBA doubleheader will feature a rematch of last Sunday’s ABC TV game as the Boston Celtics travels to Chicago to face a revenge seeking Bulls team. They tip off the action at 8PM Eastern Time on national television. Boston earned the 95-91 win on February 12th as a +1 point home underdog. Chicago point guard Derrick Rose missed the game due to back spasms. Keep an eye on the injury report as Rose did see a back specialist on Monday and the doctors found no structural damage. He is day to day. With Rose out of the lineup it was Rajon Rondo who lit up Chicago with 32 points and 15 assists with 11 of 22 shooting and 10 of 13 coming from the free throw line.

The nightcap on Thursday night features Chris Paul and the LA Clippers as they travel up to the Pacific Northwest to face a Portland Trailblazers team that plays very good basketball on their home court. TNT will start their national broadcast coverage at 10:30PM Eastern Time. The Clippers have played better basketball on the road as they have won 6 of their past 8 games on the highway. Portland has been tough to beat at home as entering Tuesday’s action they sport an 11-3 home record. These two teams hooked up in Portland back on January 10th where the Trailblazers earned the 105-97 win as a -5 ½ point home favorite. Portland had an outstanding shooting performance that night with 51.4% accuracy against the Clippers. The Trailblazers strong interior presence kept Lob City away from the bucket as Portland allowed just 32 points in the paint. The Clippers will need to shoot over the defense on Thursday so look for their guard rotation of Chris Paul, Mo Williams and Randy Foye to launch three’s as well as set up Caron Butler for good looks from beyond the arc. The Clips launched 23 three pointers in the loss and made just six of them. They will need to be better from the perimeter on Thursday night.
