The excitement gets underway with an outstanding Western conference affair as the San Antonio Spurs will hit the road to face the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs and Thunder will get things underway from OKC at 8PM Eastern Time and TNT will provide the coast to coast broadcast. The playoffs are fast approaching and heading into Tuesday’s action the San Antonio Spurs holds a three game lead in the loss column over the Oklahoma City Thunder with just eight games remaining to be played. The injuries to Thabo Sefolosha and Kendrick Perkins have impacted the Thunder defense. The Spurs are rolling as they host Golden St on Wednesday with an 18 game win streak.

The late game out west will feature the playoff contending Dallas Mavericks hitting the road after a long road trip as they face the LA Clippers from NBA action. They get started from Staples Center at 10:30PM Eastern Time and TNT will televise. In the playoff picture the Mavericks are in a dogfight with Memphis and the Phoenix Suns. The clubs are tied for seed seven though nine. The nine seed won’t make the playoffs. Dallas has just eight games remaining as they host Golden St on Tuesday. The Clippers will be on a back to back after playing at Phoenix on Wednesday. Heading into that contest the team was sitting just two games behind the second seeded Thunder with eight games remaining. That number two seed is huge because the Clippers and Thunder could meet in the second round of the playoffs. LA has to decide if they want to play hard and risk injury to catch Oklahoma City. Blake Griffin missed the Monday win against the Timberwolves to rest his back as he was experiencing spasms. Dallas has no such luxury to rest players down the stretch.
