Two Western conference playoff contenders will clash as the San Antonio Spurs will travel to play the Dallas Mavericks. The Spurs and Mavericks will get things started from Dallas at 8PM Eastern Time and TNT will provide the coast to coast broadcast. The San Antonio Spurs have taken sizable lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder for the top spot in the Western conference. With the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers floundering down the stretch it looks as though the Spurs will have home court advantage throughout the postseason. This has the chance of being a first round preview of the Western conference playoffs as the Dallas Mavericks are fighting for a postseason berth. There is a battle for the final two spots in the west as the Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks are separated by a game and a half as there is only room left for just two teams in the bottom half of the bracket. As the likely number one seed in the west should the Mavericks claim the eighth seed these two teams would meet in the first round of the playoffs. Dallas is fighting for the playoffs because of their defense. The team is allowing a high 46.5% shooting percentage to their opponents and must correct this if they are to have any success in the post season.

The late game will feature the Denver Nuggets on the road in the Bay Area to face the Golden St Warriors. The two teams will begin play from Golden St at 10:30PM Eastern Time and TNT will provide the broadcast. Head coach Brian Show inherited a playoff team when he replaced a fired George Karl. Shaw has downgraded this franchise into lottery status in his first year. Golden St as the sixth seed in the west has underperformed this season.
