The doubleheader opens up with the Chicago Bulls who are facing some adversity as they host the San Antonio Spurs at 8PM Eastern Time on TNT. The Bulls have been underperforming this season. They are 27-16 after a 14 point road loss to Cleveland on Monday night. With the loss the Bulls have dropped six of their past eight games. This led Bulls point guard Derrick Rose to call out his teammates for not being on the same page with the team’s head coach Tom Thibodeau. The team is dealing with injuries to rotation players as Mike Dunleavy and a key defensive cog in Joakim Noah. Chicago has slipped on the defensive side of the court. They sit 16th in the league in points allowed and 20th in three point field goal defense. Recently Pau Gasol was on the bench with the game on the line late that got the sensitive center to pout to the media. Gasol seems to gear down his game when playing for his club team in the NBA. The Pau Gasol that show up for Team Spain is a harder and passionate player and that had frustrated Lakers fans, players and management in his time in LA. San Antonio has the identical 27-16 record. With Kawhi Leonard back healthy with the team the Spurs have a four game winning streak heading into Thursday night.

The late night game out west on TNT will feature the LA Clippers playing host to the Brooklyn Nets at 10:30PM Eastern Time. The LA Clippers have been a disappointment as they enter play at 28-14. Many had pegged this Clipper team competing for home court throughout the NBA playoffs with the talent on this team. Instead they are a sixth seed in the West trailing the top seeded Golden St Warriors by 6 ½ games. Brooklyn holds the eighth seed in the Eastern conference by a ½ game over Charlotte entering play on Wednesday. They have lost eight of their past nine games as the club has struggled for offense being held to under 100 points in those losses.
