Maia enters with a record of 28-9. He is 42 years old and is from Brazil. Demian Maia has won three straight fights since a three fight losing streak. He fought back in October in a UFC event in Singapore and came away with a submission victory to Ben Askren. In the victory Maia earned the fight of the night bonus. Maia debut in MMA in 2001 and his first event in the UFC came in October of 2007 at UFC 77. Fourteen of his wins have come by submission. Gilbert Burns checks in with a mark of 17-3. The 33 year old fighter is a native of Brazil. He does carry a four fight win streak after his decision victory to Gunnar Nelson in Denmark back in September. He was a late replacement in that win and earned a four fight contract from the UFC.
