With an Oregon win the Ducks will play in the Rose Bowl. Should Utah win they have a shot to play in the College Football playoff or if snubbed will compete in the Rose Bowl. Utah checks in with an 11-1 record with their only loss coming on the road to USC. These teams last met a season ago with Utah winning at home 32-25 behind 506 offensive yards with 244 on the ground. Oregon piled up 405 yards but only ran for 117. Utes have scored 33 or greater points in five straight. Team comes off the 45-15 home win to Utah last week. Utes were able to run on the Buffaloes defense for 207 yards for five yards per attempt. Tyler Huntley was accurate in the win hitting on 14 of 17 for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Utes have the better defense as they limit the opponents to 241 yards with 56 rushing for 2.3 yards per run.

Oregon enters play with a 10-2 mark. After losing their opener to Auburn the team had won nine straight games. Their playoff hopes were dashed in their 31-28 road defeat two weeks ago to the Arizona St Sun Devils. Oregon then bounced back last week in their Civil War rivalry game getting past Oregon St 24-10 at home. Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert returned for his senior season this year to improve his draft status in the NFL. He can improve his status with a huge game against a good defensive team against Utah then in the Rose Bowl. Herbert on the season is completing 67.5% of his passed with 31 touchdowns and 5 picks.
