ESPN TV will televise a game with possible playoff and seeding meaning at 8PM Eastern Time as the Utah Jazz will head out on the road to face the Memphis Grizzlies. Utah is chasing the LA Lakers for the eighth and final playoff spot. The Lakers hold a one game lead over the Jazz heading into Monday’s action. Should the Jazz suffer one more loss or the Lakers earn a win the LA Lakers would clinch the eighth seed and open a playoff series this weekend likely against Oklahoma City in a best of seven playoff. Heading into Monday the magic number for OKC to earn the top seed in the Western conference is one so either one Thunder win or one Spurs loss and OKC clinches the top spot and will open up the playoffs against the eighth seed in the west. This an important game for the Memphis Grizzlies as they are tied with the LA Clippers heading into Monday’s action for the fourth seed in the Western conference. The Clippers own the tiebreaker so the Grizzlies must finish one game ahead of the Clips to capture home court advantage in their likely first round playoff matchup next week.

The nightcap on the ESPN TV at 10:30PM Eastern Time will feature the Houston Rockets hitting the road to face the LA Lakers. The LA Lakers began with life without Kobe by defeating San Antonio in a monster game on Sunday. Problem for the Lakers is that Houston may have some motivation for a victory because they are tied with the Golden St Warriors for the sixth seed in the Western conference. Houston owns the tiebreaker so if the Rockets can win their final two games they will clinch the sixth seed and that means Houston will avoid both San Antonio and Oklahoma City in the first round of the playoffs.
