Stampeders are the defending CFL Champions as they posted a 27-16 win in the Grey Cup last November against Ottawa. RedBlacks were 11-7 last regular season and face a season of changes losing their starting quarterback, receiver and key offensive lineman to free agency to Edmonton. Returning under center for Calgary is starting quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell who comes off a year that ended being crowned as the MVP for the 2018 Grey Cup. Mitchell is the highest paid player in the league.

The late night game Saturday starts at 10PM Eastern Time as the BC Lions have a home date with Winnipeg Blue Bombers. BC is favored by -2 points with the over under of 51 ½ points. Lions were 9-9 a season ago and struggled getting points on the board. Winnipeg made the playoffs last year at 10-8 and was the highest scoring team in the league. It was their first playoff appearance in seven seasons and it has been 29 years since Winnipeg won a Grey Cup. BC signed starting quarterback Mike Reilly in free agency after the signal caller spent six seasons in Edmonton. He begun his CFL career in BC for three years from 2010-2012. Matt Nichols returns at quarterback for the Blue Bombers. He starts his fifth season with the team.
