On ABC TV at 7:30PM Eastern Time the Texas Longhorns have a home date with the LSU Tigers. LSU is favored on the road by -6 points with the total lined at 55 points. LSU is an experienced team returning all four starters to their front four and six to the front seven. Tigers faced Georgia Southern at home in their opener and won 55-3. It was a dominating performance by LSU as they gained 472 offensive yards and held Georgia Southern to 98 yards with 1 of 12 on third down. Texas is 1-0 with the 45-14 home win to Louisiana Tech. Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger threw for 276 yards and four touchdowns.
