NFL Thursday Night Football begins at 8:25PM Eastern Time on NBC TV as the Green Bay Packers will host the Chicago Bears. The home side Green Bay Packers are favored by -7 ½ points with the total set at 46 points. The Bears enter this game after blowing a 13 point fourth quarter lead in a 17-16 home defeat to Jacksonville. The Packers offensive woes continued as they go 1 of 4 inside the red zone in a 30-16 home defeat to Dallas. Also at issue for Green Bay was their run defense as the Cowboys ran well in their win.

College Football on ESPN TV kicks off at 7PM Eastern Time as the Virginia Tech Hokies will host the Miami Hurricanes. Virginia Tech is favored by -6 points with the total set at 51 points. The Hurricanes offense has struggled in their back to back home losses to Florida St and North Carolina as they could not put up at least 20 points. Virginia Tech had their three game win streak snapped last week in a 14 point road loss at Syracuse as they had trouble stopping the Orange pass attack.

On ESPNU at 7:30PM Eastern Time the South Alabama Jaguars will host the Troy Trojans. The road side Troy is favored by -8 points with the total set at 47 ½ points. Troy is a much improved 5-1 team with their lone loss coming on the road at Clemson by only six points. After an upset home victory to San Diego St winning 42-24 as an 18 ½ point underdog the South Alabama Jaguars lose at Arkansas St 17-7.

On ESPN in late night at 10:15PM Eastern Time the Boise St Broncos have a home date with the BYU Cougars. Boise St is favored by -7 points with the total lined at 57 ½ points. The home team has won the past five meetings between these rivals. The Cougars have won three straight all against quality opponents. They beat Mississippi St 28-21 at home in double overtime last week. Boise St is a perfect 6-0 after beating Colorado St 28-23 as a 28 point underdog. Their lone qualify victory came in early September beating Washington St by three points.
