Tulsa upset Houston when they met in 2017 by the score of 45-17 as a +13 ½ point underdog. Golden Hurricane was down 10-7 at the half then outscored the Cougars 38-7 in the second half. Houston had three turnovers in the loss. Tulsa found success running the football with 288 yards rushing for 5.4 yards per carry.

Houston is 3-1 and bounced back from their loss at Texas Tech with a 70-14 defeat at home to Texas Southern. Cougars offense is generating 607 yards per game and is passing for 355 yards. This is a big play Houston team with average completions going for 14.1 yards. Tulsa after a win to Central Arkansas in their opener has dropped three straight. Scoring has been an issue in losses to Texas, Arkansas St and Temple as the Golden Hurricane has averaged 19 points per game.
